Sarah Massey

Physiotherapist

Sarah is a Chartered Physiotherapist and is registered with the HCPC.

She first became interested in physiotherapy after receiving treatment for a gymnastics injury. During her early career, Sarah’s interest in sports physiotherapy led her to volunteer for British Gymnastics and the London Marathon.

Her NHS rotations through rheumatology, orthopaedics, and outpatients, allowed her to specialise in musculoskeletal medicine. Sarah returned to Manchester University to obtain a Post Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy and is MACP Masters level trained in manual therapy skills.

At Addenbrookes hospital, Sarah worked in the spinal triage clinics alongside other physiotherapists and consultants. She would provide ongoing treatment for these patients alongside the Pain Clinic. Hence, she developed a strong interest in chronic pain.

Sarah went on to train as a neurolinguistic programming (NLP) practitioner and a chronic pain coach via SIRPA UK. She believes that the combination of these skills allows her to treat pain patients holistically as well as being able to coach them towards their personal goals. Sarah provides a free telephone/video consultation for all interested chronic pain patients to see how she can potentially help them.

All of Sarah’s patients receive a personalised exercise programme that contain digital videos and photographs to enable people to progress their rehabilitation between sessions. Also she is trained in Pilates by APPI and will initiate core stability programmes.
